My Story

As a young woman, I moved from Argentina to the United States with only $500 to pursue opportunities I didn’t have at home. I spent the first six years of my American dream in Fairbanks, Alaska, earning my bachelor’s degree and Certified Public Account (CPA) license.
After graduating and earning my license, I was hired by PricewaterhouseCoopers, one of the world’s Big Four accounting firms.… but I was laid off before I even started. I was devastated. Luckily, I was soon offered a position in the firm’s California office, and my new husband and I made the two-week journey from Alaska to California.
From this experience with my first job, I learned that you couldn’t rely on income from a job to generate wealth. I earnestly started saving and investing, and now I am proud to say that I’m “Financially Free.” I earn enough money from other sources to no longer rely on a paycheck. I hope to help others do the same.
I have been a CPA for 27 years. I started in corporate accounting but have since worked with multiple clients in wealth management and financial services.
Simple Steps
Accumulating wealth takes discipline but is not difficult to do. Many say that budgets don’t work, but I don’t see it this way. They just need to use them properly as a tool to determine how much to save instead of how much more you can spend.
The steps for accumulating wealth are easy:
Get your finances in order. Know what your net worth is as well as how much debt you have.
Pay off that debt. While paying off that debt, start contributing to a 401K or Roth IRA, but only as much as your employer matches. If you are self-employed, you have other options. The most important thing is to be consistent. When you start putting money away, don’t reduce your contribution and gradually add to it.
Once your debt is paid, and you’ve contributed what you can to retirement funds, save in other ways. I can help with that.
Have a financial planner review your status every year.
Although these steps are easy, they are challenging to implement for many. It requires commitment. That is where my coaching comes in. I will teach you how to make small sacrifices now that will lead to a better financial future.
My Goal
Women spend much of their lives taking care of their families and often sacrifice their finances in the process. They give their children all they have to make their lives better without thinking of themselves. Therefore, when it comes time for retirement, they often have very little saved for themselves and end up relying on Medicare and their families for help. Many others work far into their twilight years because they simply cannot afford to retire. I want to teach women to retire with dignity, where they can rely on themselves for their financial needs and enjoy their lives.
My second goal is to assist members of the Hispanic community gain financial freedom. Immigrants often send most of their money back home, and being an immigrant myself, I understand the sentiment. It’s essential, however, for immigrants to invest some of that money to have a better life.
